      Genevieve YARBRAY (YARBOROUGH), wife of Joseph MARTIN of this parish petitioned the Court and swore that Joseph MARTIN died 17 Nov 1831 in this parish and left community property consisting of a plantation and slaves and other movables.
      That the said deceased was tutor of the minor Children to wit: 1) Nicolas Martin, 13; 2) Ovide, 11; 3) Mathilda, 9 yrs 4 mo; 4) Nobert, 7 years; The children of his deceased son, Jacque MARTIN. She asked to be tutor of her grandchildren.
      The plantation located on the left bank of the Mississippi River, about 45 miles below the city of New Orleans at a place called Pointe-a-la-Hache, established and cultivated as a rice plantation,measuring 12-1/2 arpents fronting the river and forty depth. The dwelling house, kitchen and rice mill and said plantation bound above by property of Barthelemy FONTENELLE and appraised at $2,000 - 10 slaves, cattle and other movables, valued at $7,526.00.
