Notes |
- According to Lloyd Bennett Jr, Grandfather Edgar Dobard's nickname for Claude was "Clooky".
When his wife died in 1931, Edgar Dobard sent his four younger children to be fostered by relatives. His eldest daughter, Gabrielle, who lived at 1129 N. Villere street, took charge of Louise. Claude went to his Aunt Bertha Tennette Cook, who lived in New Orleans. Hubert went to his great-aunt Elvira Dobard, who shared the other side of the double shotgun house at 1129 N. Villere with her friend Josephine "Gramsy" Levy. Fred went to his aunt and uncle, Frank "Papa Frank" Dobard and Sara "Mama Sara" Barbre Dobard, who lived on their farm in Livonia, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge.
According to Louis Dobard Kaufman, Claude and Dorothy had 3 or 4 children.
