... a solemn service for the repose of the soul of Mme. Michelle Chauvin, wife of Jaques Nepveu aged about 45 years, [and] Jean Michel Nepveu aged 20 years, Elizabeth Nepveu aged 13 years, Suzanne Nepveu aged 8 years, her children. They were slain by the savages five to seven legues from the Wabash. It is believed that Jacques Nepveu was taken prisoner and was carried away with a young boy about 9 years named Prever and a young slave girl not yet baptized."

Two report that Michelle and three of her children were killed; one of those reports that her husband, Jacques Nepeuv, a boy of about nine years and a young slave girl not yet baptized were taken prisoner and carried away. The children reported murdered were Jean Michel Nepveu (20), Elizabeth Nepveu (13), Suzanne Nepveu (8). Dates of this event range from 1700 to 1737. One report indicates Michelle was about 45 years old. this needs to be researched further. [4]
