A requiem mass was said last Saturday morning at St. Patrick's church for Louis S. Tenette, 64-year-old retired Probation officer, who died Jan. 20.
Mr. Tenette, a prominent Catholic layman, retired from the County Probation Department last year after serving 24 years.
Besides longtime membership in the Knights of Peter Claver, Mr. Tenete was past president of St. Patrick's Holy Name Society and a member of the Sierra Retreat League.
He was a native of New Orleans and came to Los Angeles 39 years ago after teaching briefly at Tuskegee Institute under its founder, late, great, Booker T. Washington.
His family home was at 666 E. 46th st. His wife, Eliza, and their five children, Mrs. Leon Baylyff, Mrs. Lorraine Harris, Mrs. Ann Alexander, Louis, Jr. and Leander Tenette, also 11 grandchildren, survive.
Mr. Tenette served in World War I, in which he was decorated.
Mass was also held at St. Patrick's with burial in Calvary cemetery, Angelus Funeral Home in charge. ###
