      He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Leo Dobard, Sr. and his brother, Louis P. Dobard, Sr.

      Leo P. Dobard, Jr. is survived by, his wife of 62 years, Maynette S. Dobard; two sons, Leo P. Dobard, III and his wife, Omega, Edward C. Dobard and his wife, Joan; two daughters, Barbara A. Dobard and Denise E. Dobard all of Alexandria; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeal Service from the New Orleans Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott. On Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM. followed by interment in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM.       P. Dobard, Jr., age 83, of Alexandria, LA, passed away, Friday, August 7, 2009 in his residence surrounded by his family.
      Mr. Dobard was president of Cenla Beverage Company. He was a native of New Orleans, LA served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific and the Occupation of Japan. Upon returning to New Orleans he went to work as a salesman for LA Coca Cola Bottling Company. In 1963 he moved to Dallas to work for the Pepsi Cola Company. In 1966 he moved to Alexandria to take over the Pepsi Cola Franchise, in 1978 he sold the Pepsi-Cola business. In 1980 Coors Brewing Company was expanding east and he was awarded the franchise for the ten parish area of central Louisiana. Mr. Dobard was a member of the American Legion Post 3, member of the VFW Post 1736, served on the board of the association of the United States Army Leondas Polk Chapter. He served as vice president of military affairs for 28 years, and served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce of Central Louisiana. Mr.Dobard was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Frances Cabrini Council 13505, Serra Club of Alexandria, past president of the Exchange Club of Alexandria, and district past president of the Exchange Clubs of the Arkansas, Louisiana district. He served on the board of the World War II Museum located at Camp Beauregard. In 1998 he was awarded the Small Businessperson for central Louisiana. Mr. Dobard was the past president of the Louisiana Soft Drink Association, served on the board of the Beer League of Louisiana. He served on the board of the Catholic Foundation for north central Louisiana.
