      «/b»Paul Dobard, 134 South Telemachus street, was fiven $25 or thirty days for speeding thirty-five miles an hour, driving against traffic and having no [valid driver's license] testified that his life had been threatened on the night of the arrest and that he thought Detective John Grousch who arrested him was the man who had made the threat. He said he was making an effort to save his life. Dobard was also granted an affidavit on a charge of operating an automobile while under the influence of liquor. ###

      «/b» Coincident with the death of Henry Johnson, negro, in Charity hospital from infuries suffered Monday in an automobile accident, the first driver's license was revoked for one year in traffic court yesterday.
      ...
      Paul Dobard, Jr., 134 South Telemachus street, was fined $25 and sentenced to serve thirty days besides having his license revoked. The jail sentence was suspended. Traffic records show that Dobard was arrested October 23 at Callipe and Camp streets by Motorcycle Patrolman Charles Duke, who filed charges against Dobard for operating an automobile while under the influence of liquor, speeding thirty-five miles an hour, recless driving, resisting arrest, reviling the police and using obscene language. Recorder [Thomas P.] Goff declared he was going to revoke the licenses of every driver convicted of operating an automobile while under the influence of liquor. He said Dobard will have to serve the thirty days if he is arrested again. ###

      «b»Man is Accused of Stealing Auto; Detectives Say Prisoner Was Caught in Act of Diving Off in Machine
      «/b» While said to have been in the act of driving off in the automobile of William Vedelenge of 919 North Dorgenois street from St. Charles and Union streets at midnight Sunday, Paul Dobard, 26 years old, who gave his address as 4123 D'Hemecourt street, was arrested by Detectives James Daniels and Alfred Malone on the charge of grand larceny.
      The detectives say they saw Dobard tampering with several automobiles on Baronne street. At St. Charles and Union streets, Dobard is said to have started the automobile when the detectives came up. According to the police, Dobard said the automobile belong to a friend of his and while talking with the detectives, Videlenge said he did not know Dobard. ###
