      Body of Drowning Victim Recovered
«/b»Stanley J. Dobard, Negro, 29, 916 N. Robertson, was drowned about 2:25 p.m. Friday when he fell into the Mississippi river at Poydras st. after being struck by a cargo net loaded with sacks of cottonseed meal, First District police reported.
His body was recovered three hours later by crew members on a Coast Guard cutter which joined police in dragging operations. An autopsy will be performed Saturday.
Police said Dobard, a stevedore, was helping unhook a cargo net from the «i»SS Del Mar«/i» of the Mississippi Shipping Company when the accident occurred.
Lines on the winch which was being used to lower the net became fouled and the net was suddenly jerked upward, causing Dobard to be knocked from the wharf into the river, police said. ### [9]
