DOBARD, LESTER "RED"
Died at 8:06 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 1984, in Ventress. He was 59, a resident of New Roads and native Belle Chasse. He was a self-employed contractor. Visiting at Pointe Coupee Funeral Home, New Roads, 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, with rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday. Religious services at St. Augustine Catholic Church, New Roads, at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial in church cemetery.
Survived by wife, Marian Dobard of New Roads; a stepmother, Sadie Dobard, Jefferson (sic) Bend; four daughters, nine sons, three sisters, three sons-in-law, six daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren and a godchild. Preceded in death by parents and a brother. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. ###

«b»Five Hurt as Two Automobiles Collide«/b»
Five persons were injured, two seriously, in a collision of two automobiles about 2 a.m. Sunday at N. Rampart and Pauger, Fifth Precinct police reported.
Confined to Charity hospital with a possible skull fracture was Earl Sanders, Negro, 20, Route 5, Box 991, New Orleans, police said. Elliott Delone, Negro, 17, Jesuit Bend, was under treatment for internal injuries.
Lester Dobard, Negro, 22, Jesuit Bend, who police said was driving the car in which the two were riding, suffered minor bruises and lacerations. Eugene Sanders, Negro, 25, Jesuit Bend, and Alfred Brooks, address unknown, both Negroes, who were passengers in Dobard's car, received minor injuries.
Police said James Pate, Negro, 26, 501 Montegut, operator of the other car, was not injured. Pate and Dobard were booked with reckless driving and causing injury and damage. ### [9]
