- Newspaper article: "At a meeting held in Pythian Temple, the following citizens were appointed on The Times-Picayune Christmas gift committee for colored children: [list of several dozen people, including Leon B. Vignes].
"The committee as organized, will begin an active campaign to make the Christmas Gift Fund the largest in its history. social clubs, benevolent associations, fraternal orders, and business concerns will do their share to increase the fund very materially this year. Late on, a general arrangement and distribution committee will be appointed by Chairman Frank Peter Farrell. Rev. Henderson H. Dunn is secretary of the committee."

«b»VIGNES «/b»-- Entered into rest on Sunday, July 28, 1935, at 1:35 o'clock p.m., LEON B. VIGNES, beloved husband of Cecile Rellieux, father of Mrs. Cora Vignes Fernandez, brother of Mesdames Cora Vignes Wilson Mathilde Vignes Perkins, Alice Vignes, Joseph and Alva A. Vignes of Berkeley, Cal.
Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of Grace M. E. church, Public School Treachers' Cooperative Benevolent Association, Brick Masons' Union and Boy Scouts are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 1935, at 3:30 o'clock p.m., from the late residence of the deceased, 2032 Orleans street, between Johnson and North Prieur streets. Rev. H. J. Williams officiating.
Interment in St. Louis cemetery No. 2.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
Tariff of Bricklayers and Masons' International Union No. 1 of New Orleans, La., effective on and after APRIL 1, 1901:
The number of hours to constitute a day's work shall be eight (8), from 7 o'clock a.m. to 12 noon, and from 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock p.m.
The wages shall be fifty cents (50c) per hour.
All time after h ours will be charged for at one and a half hour for one (1-1/4 for 1), except Sundays, Christmas Day and Fourth of July, which days shall be charged for at double time.
No work shall be done on Labor Day.
A recess of not less than one-half hour shall be taken between straight time and over time, except in cases of emergency.
Pay day shall be every Saturday.
