      Leo Sanders, Sr. departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday April 25, 2004 at 11:35 A.M. Husband of the late Clara Mae Sullen Sanders. Father of Leroy Sullen, Leo Sanders Jr., Betty Jean Williams, Rose Bell, Cynthia Robinson, Leo (Tunie) Sanders, Joann Hall, Barbara Sanders, Deborah Franklin, Michelle Sylve, Joann, Joseph, and Carolyn Sanders, and the late Kevin Sanders. Son of the late Rita Dobard and Arnolie Sanders, Sr. Brother of Carmen Wallace, Rose May Salvant, Theresa August, and Francis Heard. Brother-in-law of Raymond August, Charlie Green, Joe B. Berry, Alvin Mosely, Isabela Green, Mary Ann Berry, Ora Lee Mosely, Shirley and Odeal Sullen; also survived by 15 grandhildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 sons-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Age 78 years. A native and resident of Belle Chasse, La.

      «/b» Leo Sanders Sr., a retired truck driver, died Sunday at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 78. Mr. Sanders was born in Plaquemines Parish and lived in Belle Chase for many years. Survivors include four sons, LeRoy Sullen, Leo Sanders Jr. and Leo "Tunie" and Joseph Sanders; nine daughters, Betty Jean Williams, Rose Bell, Cynthia Robinson, JoAnn Hall, Deborah Franklin, Michelle Sylve, and Barbara, JoAnn and Carolyn Sanders; four sisters, Carmen Wallace, Rose Mary Salvant, Theresa August, and Francis Heard; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street, Algiers. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Dobard Cemetery, Jesuit Bend. Davis Mortuary Service handled the arrangements.
