- Obituary 1: Joseph (Buck) Dobard, Jr., on Thursday, October 20, 1983 at 3:30 p.m. Beloved husband of the late Alvira Dobard. Son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Eulalia Carrere Dobard. Father of Clarence W. Dobard. Brother of the late Eva Dobard, Eliza D. Williams and Sophie D. Higgins. Nephew of Frank Dobard. Uncle of Haman and Helen Higgins, Haman III, Regina and Marcel Higgins. Also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the dismissal services at the Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home, Inc., 1716 North Claiborne Avenue, on Tuesday, October 25, 1983, at 11 a.m. Reverend Mary B. Laws, officiating. (Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 25, 1983, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.) Interment in St. Roch, No. 2, Cemetery. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS. Arrangements by The Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home, Inc., 1716 North Claiborne Avenue.
Obituary 2: Funeral services for Joseph Dobard Jr. will be held at Rhodes funeral home, 1716 N. Claiborne Avenue. Interment will be in St. Roch Cemetery.
Mr. Dobard died Thursday at Veterans Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 88.
Mr. Dobard was born in Jesuit Bend in Plaquemines Parish and lived in New Orleans most of his life.
He served in the Army in World War I and was a retired longshoreman.
He is survived by a son, Clarence W. Dobard. ###
