      «/b» "The Blessed Sacrament was drawn reverently through New Orleans streets to the City Park Stadium Thursday afternoon in a Eucharistic procession marched in by scores of thousands of persons and witnessed by many thousands more.
      "The public exposition of the Blessed Sacrement, with final Benediction in the stadium marked the close of the Eighth National Eucharistic Congress after four days of receptions, ceremonies and sectional meetings, the latter designed to promote the religious work of the Catholic Church.
      "George Cardinal Mundelein, archbishop of Chicago and papal legate to the congress, is scheduled to leave with his entourage today at 1:15 p.m. aboard a special section of the Illinois Central System's Panama Limited from the Union Station. ..."

      There are several pages describing the participants of the extremely long parade. The fifth division was "massed around 12 city blocks" and was composed of "Knights of St. Peter Claver, negro students, Catholic men and women and visiting laymen and women.. [It] was one of the largest in the parade."
      "Elementary and grade schools led the marching units and were followed by high schools and universities. Parish women made up the next unit, behind which came Catholic men. The final unit was made up of the pilgrims who came here to attend the congress.
      "School children were identified by their caps, ties and capes, which ranged from green and orange to tea rose. As in all other division, each school carried banners and standards which distinguished it from the rest.
      "The division was led by the St. Peter Claver Band, uniformed in white with purple ties, after which marched studens from the following schools and other institutions: All Saints, Blessed Sacrament, Lafon Boys' Home, St. John Berchmans Orphanage, Corpus Christi, Holy Ghost, St. Joan of Arc, St. Katherine, St. Louise, St. Monica, St. Peter Claver, St. Raymond, St. Mary's, St. Mary's Academy, Xavier preparatory school and Xavier University.
      "St. Mary's Academy Band, the girls uniformed in white with gold lined blue capes, led the second unit in which marched women from the parishes of All Saints Blessed Sacrament, Corpus Christi, St. David, Holy Ghost, Holy Redeemer, St. Joan of Arc, St. Katherine, St. Louis, St. Monica, St. Peter Claver and St. Raymond.
      "The men's unit, led by Xavier University Band in blue uniform with gold piping and stripes, was composed of men from the parishes of [same as listed for women's unit].
      "The final unit of the division was led by the Xavier Preparatory School Band, in solid yellow uniforms. Behind it, for several blocks, walked men and women from outside the New Orleans archdiocese who made the pilgrimage here to participate in the congress.
      "The division marshal was R. E. Felton, and his assistants were Sidney Fauria, Joseph Buggage, Harold Banduit, J. Cavalier, Louis Mack, Joseph Ellsworth, Albert Courrier, Gaston Moore, S. Cenjust, Philip Baptists, George Gussmann, C. Arril, J. Fox, Joseph Dugas, Lloyd Bennett, Martin Leufroy, M. LaBat, H. Cavalier, George Allaio, Andrew Johnson, Albert Davis, B. de Joie, Alphonse Delisle, M. Stephens, Alphonse Lassai, Sidney Moore, Louis Murphy, Joseph Bart, and Charles Rousseve."

Father-in-law of Eliana Bennett and Richard Roussell. Brother of Yvonne Bechet, Alfred Barbarin, Ida Darensbourg and the late Walter Barbarin and Elbert Barbarin. Grandfather of Timothy Bennett, Terese Favorite, Gabriela Bennett, Yochit l. [sic] Bennett, Kelly Savoy and Bryan Roussell. Great-grandfather of Brittany Bennett, Travis and Luke Savoy.
