«b»Carl A. Sanders, Sr.«/b», a retired machine operator for the Lafourche Levee Board, died Wednesday at Charity Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Sanders was born in Ollie and lived in Harvey for the past 43 years. He worked for the Levee Board for 18 years. He was a parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Jr. and Eric Sanders Sr.; three daughters, Karen Harris, Madeline Jefferson and Jacqueline Smith Johnson; a brother, Leo Sanders; five sisters, Theresa August, Frances Heard, Carmen Wallace, Rosemary Salvant and Ursula Wynn; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at D. W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil St., Gretna. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Sanders Cemetery in Ollie. ###
